# The Journey to Feeling Better:
Breaking Free from Scary Memories Getting over scary memories isn’t simple. It’s like being in a maze—full of wrong turns, starts and stops, and times when it seems like you’ll never find the way out. I know this from my own experience with getting better. Looking back, I can see the different steps I took, but it sure wasn’t a straight path at the time.
When you start, you often just want to feel a little bit better quickly rather than being all the way okay. Many people begin here. Healing all the way can seem really hard, maybe even impossible. So aiming to feel “better” instead of “healed” seems easier. I remember thinking, “If I can just keep things under control, that would be enough.” This is normal and happens to a lot of people who’ve had tough experiences.
The next part is often wanting to feel normal again. This can be really frustrating. You might feel nervous, have low confidence, and pretend to be okay. I often wondered if normal was even possible. Scary memories and bad dreams hung around, making any progress feel small. You’re trying to move forward, but sometimes it feels like you’re also moving backward.
Then, there might be a breakthrough. For me, it was a surprise. I stopped trying so hard to find the answers, and during that time, I discovered ways that helped me a lot. We use these techniques at Ultimate Me to help others who have had tough times. I learned that it’s not about getting rid of the hard stuff but finding a way to let it go.
This isn’t just my story. It’s something lots of people who’ve had scary experiences know about. I’ve talked with others, and we’ve noticed similar things. It’s important to remember that getting better isn’t hard because you aren’t trying. It’s about finding what works for you and not giving up until you get there.
If any of this sounds familiar, know there’s still hope. You can be free from scary memories. Our program called “FREEDOM” is here to help you go from just dealing with things to truly living happily. You don’t have to go through this alone.
Remember, feeling better is a twisty journey, not a straight line, but freedom can be reached. The path may have turns, but it leads to something amazing. You’re not alone, and you don’t need to do this by yourself. Freedom is not just somewhere you’re going; it’s calling you to take that first brave step with others.
